*Please note, that there is a joining seam along the width of the FULL, QUEEN, CAL KING, KING, and CAL KING sized mattresses for linen and wool because the width of these fabrics is 59″. We chose to make the seam along the width because it could be placed at the level of your knees/feet or at the level of your head and under your pillow so it would not be disturbing. If requested, we could make the seam along the length of the mattress, right through the middle of it.

How did we curate this product?

While there’s no universal standard for sustainable manufacturing, Living Deep is committed to supporting brands, makers and manufacturers that are on a ‘deep green’ path, making progress towards positive environmental and social benefit. As we consider how this product impacts our health and the health of all species, you can learn more about how we evaluate products, or keep reading below for our curation of this specific product...

Where does the product come from?

Our origins began with an inspirational story of motherly love and care. After much research and attempts to restore the health of her child, Rosica Petrova discovered that the cure for her son’s allergies lies in the use of 100% natural materials. Inspired by this life-changing event, Rosica founded Home of Wool and filled in the much-needed demand for high-quality toxin-free mattresses, bedding, and furniture.

All operations, from design to the handcrafting of the product, happen in our workshop in Sofia, Bulgaria, where skilled artisans put special effort into each product.

The four pillars of our design are health, comfort, utility, and aesthetics. Every product is entirely hand-made.

What is it made of?

We trust in the strength, durability, and health benefits of the natural fibers that have been a vital part of Bulgarian life and history for over a millennium.

These are all-natural products, completely free of chemicals and synthetics, made with unparalleled craftsmanship. Handcrafted with the highest quality wool and raw fabrics of linen, cotton, wool, and silk to become mattresses, bedding, and home décor treasures.

The Oeko-Tex and GOTS certificates guarantee the natural origin and the absence of chemicals in our fabrics and fillings. No bleaches, no dyes, no glues, no synthetic, no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) in any of our products as they are 100% natural and toxic-free. The crops we use, have not been treated with pesticides or fungicides.

Where does it go at the end of its life?

Everything we do at Home of Wool is based on environmental responsibility. Our products are all made-to-order, which ensures we follow our zero-waste philosophy, creating no more than what is requested by our customers.

All fabrics and wool we use are 100% renewable and biodegradable. Our mattresses, bedding, and furniture are built to last, and with good product care, they should be part of your home for generations.

Wool biodegrades in soil in only a few months to a year, and in the process releases essential nutrients back into the earth.

company statement

My dedication and love for my family are the inspiration behind Home of Wool. The complete collection of mattresses, bedding, and home décor items are created with you and your loved ones in mind.

One hundred percent all-natural and chemical-free, our line is handcrafted with the highest quality organic wool, delivering unparalleled purity and comfort. In-house artisans carefully construct each piece with great care and attention to detail.

Personal tailoring is only limited by imagination, as our talented makers can customize size, shape, fabric, and materials to create bespoke items you and your family will cherish for years to come. Our non-toxic mattresses and bedding provide the comfort you can trust through utilizing the most wholesome materials.

My extensive background as an architect aided me in creating the unique design of our handmade bedding and accessories. A natural and renewable resource, wool is dust-mite free, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and mildew resistant.

These qualities make it the perfect source for constructing mattresses and natural bedding. An old Bulgarian tradition that dates back centuries ago, wool mattresses are historically known to provide natural comfort. Wool mattresses have been used in many parts of the world for centuries before the industrial revolution brought mass-produced synthetic and petroleum-based bedding.

I’m devoted to creating a line of bedding and décor that improve your quality of life, just like it has for my family and so many others. My team and I work every day to ensure Home of Wool goes above and beyond in quality, purity, comfort, and safety.
