[’hɑːv] Scandinavian for ‘sea’ The waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic and Baltic seas surround the Scandinavian region, forming some of the longest, wildest coastlines on earth.

A perfume and Swedish rapeseed wax blend in painted glass with a pure cotton wick and engraved beechwood lid.

Scent notes: Salt spray and seaweed, hawthorn and beach rose.

200 g / 50 hrs: Diameter: 7.9 cm / Height: 9.9 cm

65 g / 20 hrs: Diameter: 5.1 cm / Height: 6.5 cm

We recommend you burn this candle for no longer than 3 hours at a time, or until the melt pool reaches the glass edge, to keep the wax from tunneling. Let the wax cool and trim the wick to 0.5cm before relighting. Always leave 0.5cm of unmolten wax at the base of the candle to prevent prolonged exposure of direct heat to the glass and surface below. The wooden lids are designed to be used as a base for the lit candle to help protect from sensitive surfaces, and as a snuffer to extinguish the flame.

How did we curate this product?

While there’s no universal standard for sustainable manufacturing, Living Deep is committed to supporting brands, makers and manufacturers that are on a ‘deep green’ path, making progress towards positive environmental and social benefit. As we consider how this product impacts our health and the health of all species, you can learn more about how we evaluate products, or keep reading below for our curation of this specific product...

Where does the product come from?

Skandinavisk designs everything from their office in Copenhagen, Denmark, and produce their finished products in Denmark, Sweden and France. "Production inside Scandinavia and the EU is important for us since this is where we come from, it means we can be closer to our production facilities to oversee quality control, our production lead times are faster to respond to demand – and it helps reduce our footprint."

If you are unsure where the item comes from, check the base of their packaging – it’s the law that ‘Country of Origin’ (the country where the product was manufactured) is specified on all products.

What is it made of?

Partially-recycled and dishwasher-proof glass produced in the EU with metals-free water dyes, FSC-certified beechwood lid from managed European forests and FSC-certified packaging card from managed Swedish forests with natural colour dyes.

Where does it go at the end of its life?

We recommend you wash and reuse the glass for tealights or storage, or sort and recycle after use.

COMPANY statement

Skandinavisk was started by a curious English chap, Shaun, who fell in love with a blonde Scandinavian gardener and never left. He was joined by a second English emigrant, Gerry, who shared his love for Scandinavia and a Danish designer, Line, who captured their combined experiences and translated it all into our distinctive design DNA.

Trading since 2013, our home and body fragrance collections are inspired by almost 20 years of travels across the Nordic region. We create subtle, refined scents based on aspects of Scandinavia we consider to be precious to the inhabitants and exotic to the outside world, and we blend them with colour, symbols and a single local word rich with meaning to create unique impressions of Scandinavia.

An independent company, our growing team of Scandinavians, Brits and like-minded nationalities can be found in Copenhagen, Stockholm, London and Paris and we produce everything here in Scandinavia or in the European Union.

But living Scandinavian is not just which part of the world you come from, it’s also how you think, how you treat others and the nature that surrounds you, and what you treasure. We believe a more Scandinavian approach to life offers a blueprint for a better future in a world that’s forgetting how to listen to quieter voices.
